This day, this moment we can choose to open our eyes to the spiritual beauty of the world and to behold those around us as they really are in all their broken glory. It’s a gift to be able to do so, but it’s also a decision.

SoulTerra’s wilderness programs are held in various locations around the Salida area.
Is this program right for you?
SoulTerra’s wilderness experiences are geared towards cultivating a life of joy and peace. We conduct our retreats in remote areas of nature without the distractions of every day life. We are looking for those who are ready to be courageously honest and loving, and who long to develop a more spiritual connection with nature. Our programs are designed to take you to a deep emotional and spiritual level. This is not psychotherapy however in that the focus is not on healing old wounds. We encourage people to empower themselves with awareness and accept responsibility for their personal expression. Our wilderness experiences can be taken in any order or repeated as every gathering is unique.
What to expect on a spirit hike?
A spirit hike is spirited both physically and spiritually. We hike at a spirited pace for 8-12 miles, and we take time to honor Spirit in nature during our day. (mindfulness meditation, journaling, chanting, silence). Meet at Salida Safeway north parking area at 7:30 am Fridays during the summer and fall. Be prepared for what you would need to be comfortable for a full day in the mountains (food, water, hat, rain layer, journal).
What to expect on a weekend retreat?
Weekend retreats are still in the planning phase. They are a 3 day retreat—camping is an option as is getting a room in Salida and commuting to the wilderness site. Each weekend will be focused on a particular theme and the rhythm of each day would be similar; Journaling/Drawing, Nature-based meditations, Sacred Council—sharing in a group, alone time in nature, free time to explore, be, exercise.
